Day 70: First Day of Potty Training

About a month ago I decided that this week would be the week for Madison to potty train. I would have a break from school and we wouldn't be traveling for a few weeks. So, I knew today would be the day.

Day one has been hard. I've never taken as many steps by 11AM as I have today. I've been all over the house and I've cleaned up multiple messes. I've also changed Madison quite a bit. Our record today was 7 for 22. She successfully used the bathroom 7 times. 15 accidents. Countless other potty trips in the meantime.

Madison couldn't grasp on at first. She understood that she was peeling but it didn't register that she needed to go to the potty before she did. So, she'd scream pee pee as it happened.

By the late afternoon, early evening she caught on a little better. As the night went on she used the bathroom successfully and did so well with telling us.

Caleb had a great day at school and has been doing his journal daily with no reminders. He's really doing so much better lately. He's such a great little boy.

    1. Thanks Brooke. I was definitely discouraged after day one but so excited that she did well the following days. Today was not a good day, but I know there will be good and bad.
