This morning we slept in just a little bit. We then got ready to do our two character meet and greets. Maddie got to see Anna, Elsa, and Olaf, and Caleb was able to see Captain America, Thor, and Spider-Man. Maddie loved seeing the princesses. She hugged on them (well, she let them hug her) and then she made her way to see Olaf. She gave Olaf some great hugs and a kiss on his carrot nose.
While Maddie enjoyed her Frozen character gathering, Caleb was meeting Captain America, Thor, and Spider-Man. He said he had a great time and enjoyed meeting the Marvel characters. He also posed with the characters for some fun pictures.
Once the meet and greets were over, we ate a quick breakfast and got off the ship to tour Helsinki. The kids had a rough morning but did pretty well on the tour.
First, we drove around the city finding the Olympic Stadium that was built in 1940. It was used in the Olympic Summer games in 1950. We only saw the outside and then headed to Sibelius Park and saw the head statue of Jean Sibelius and this cool pipe structure. There are 602 total pipes that make up this structure. That was interesting.
Our next stop took place at a rock church. Two brothers built this place and it's conformed of granite stones. This was a pretty cool structure and the kids seemed to enjoy seeing it. On the way to the church we had to take a small walk. Maddie wanted me to carry her instead of Daniel, so she pitched a fit. I got some great faces from her though.
Once we left the church we headed to the Senate Square. There was a beautiful church there along with the University of Finland. We left there and then headed to the open air market where there was also a lot of shopping.
We found a few souvenirs and made our way back to the Magic. Madison fell asleep on me during the last part of town and took a decent nap.
When we got back on the ship there was a little time to spare, so we put on our swim suits and enjoyed the Helsinki sunshine. Daniel got in the pool with Maddie and Caleb did his own thing. We swam for an hour or so and then got ready for dinner. We decided to look at the art work in the hallways to kill time before dinner.
To our surprise, Minnie Mouse was on a walking tour so Madison and Caleb got some fun one on one time. Maddie matched her perfectly in her Minnie dress and shoes. We followed Minnie to the lobby and danced with her for a few minutes. We told Minnie bye and informed her that we'd be seeing her soon.
We enjoyed dinner and the kids ate really well. So, they enjoyed some ice cream for dessert.
We put the kids to bed early since we knew our next day would be busy. They were out in no time. Daniel and I enjoyed our night, too. Goodnight!
